Woo Specialty
Freshwater cultured pearls are mostly welcome by consumer today. Instead
of using a large nucleus, small pieces of mantle tissue are inserted into
the oyster or mussel to form pearls. As the pearl forming process is naturally
occurring, pearl farmers can hardly control the shape and quality of the
pearls being produced.
Uneven layered nacre can cause the pearl¡¦s
shape to change. Thus, there are various shapes and kinds of pearls. Coin,
irregular, potato, rice, button, round, etc. are shapes of pearls available
on the market today.
New Techniques Utilized
Compare
to nature, our contribution in the making of the perfect pearl is small,
but nevertheless it is very significant. That is why we are always searching
for new ways
to
improve our products; we turn to advancement in cultivation techniques.
The Tai Woo Group factory utilized new techniques and machineries for
pearl processing. Now all pearls from Tai Woo have very high luster, with
a slight pinkish undertone, which are hardly distinguishable from Japanese
pearls. We have gained huge strides by using a laser dyeing process to
dye our pearls. Freshwater black pearls are now as genuine as Tahitian
black pearls. Other fashionable colors, which do not occur naturally,
can also be dyed in a constant shade.
